Sun Wenbin, the murderer of the medical case in Beijing Civil Aviation General Hospital, was sentenced to death.

　　CCTV News:On January 16, 2020, Beijing No.3 Intermediate People’s Court held a public hearing to hear the case of defendant Sun Wenbin’s intentional homicide, sentenced the defendant Sun Wenbin to death for intentional homicide and deprived him of his political rights for life.

　　The court found that on December 4, 2019, the defendant Sun Wenbin and his relatives sent his mother and grandson Wei to the Civil Aviation General Hospital for treatment. Because Sun Wenbin was dissatisfied with the doctor Wen Yang’s treatment of his mother, he held a grudge and intended to retaliate. At 6 o’clock on December 24th, Sun Wenbin repeatedly cut and stabbed Wen Yang, the doctor on duty, with a sharp knife prepared in advance in the emergency room, causing Wen Yang to die. Sun Wenbin surrendered himself to the police after committing the crime and was arrested by the public security organs.

　　The court held that the defendant Sun Wenbin deliberately and illegally deprived others of their lives, and his behavior constituted a crime of intentional homicide, which was extremely serious and should be punished according to law. Sun Wenbin reported to the police after committing the crime, and was able to truthfully confess his crimes after the case, which should be considered as surrender according to law. In view of the extremely bad nature of Sun Wenbin’s crime, the method of killing is particularly cruel, the circumstances and consequences are particularly serious, and the social harm is extremely great. Although there is a plot of surrender, it is not enough to be given a lighter punishment. The court made the above-mentioned first-instance judgment in court according to law.

　　During the trial, the court gave full evidence and cross-examination of the criminal facts accused by the public prosecution, and listened to the opinions of both the prosecution and the defense. The defendant Sun Wenbin pleaded guilty in court.
