On December 28th, the Kunming Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism promoted "Ten Reasons for Coming to Kunming for Winter", and introduced a number of new ways to play, such as city roaming routes and "quality routes", to invite tourists to experience Kunming’s urban fashionable life, healthy ecological life around Dianchi Lake and slow life in old Kunming.

On New Year’s Day and Spring Festival holidays in 2024, Kunming launched 750 cultural tourism activities. On December 31, 2023, the Shanghe Kunming Marathon will start in 2023, and 15,000 runners will participate in four groups: full marathon, half marathon, public health run (5 km) and Shanghe parent-child run. During the event, Kunming will also launch a "discount package" to the contestants, bringing together the preferential activities launched by Kunming A-level scenic spots, restaurants, hot springs and spas. On the same day, in 2024, the "Spring City Culture Festival" and the Confucian Temple National Tide Culture Festival were held in Kunming Confucian Temple.
